About Geir
Geir Løvold was born in Norway in 1956. He played in the Norwegian Radio Orchestra for more than 15 years, and he has had contracts in the other orchestras and at most of the theatres in Oslo. He has also been in constant demand as a studio musician. Geir Løvold has traveled widely as a soloist, and a number of Norwegian composers have written works especially for him
He has made an impression internationally in virtuoso concerts along with Iver Kleive and Kjetil Bjerkestrand: a trio of solo tuba, church organ and synthesizers.
In 1993-94 he composed and played music placed in the huge Olympic Sculpture Stream Nest. Since then he has composed several music programs for ensembles in which he has mostly himself has been participating.
